Leonardo Suarez Paz is Tango Royalty. His Father, Fernando, was the violinist in the ensemble of Astor Piazzolla, one of the most significant figures in the history of tango. Leonardo grew up surrounded by the sounds and attitudes of New Tango revolution alongside its main protagonists his father Fernando, poet Horacio Ferrer, and genius composer Astor Piazzolla who crushed the traditions of tango by infusing the old form with unpredictable rhythms and harmonies of jazz and classical music.
Leonardo was part of legendary tango groups traveling around the world for over a decade. He performed in Tango x 2, Julio Bocca's Ballet Argentino, The Show of Mariano Mores', and Broadway Shows 'Forever Tango' and 'Tango Argentino'. Leonardo Suarez Paz weaves tango into his artistic collaborations that cross geographical borders and music genres. He hosted Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra in Buenos Aires in an event featuring the best in jazz and tango.
As a violin soloist, he enhanced productions of Placido Domingo. He has worked with Luis Miguel, Stanley Jordan, Robert Deniro, and Savion Glover. The National Academy of Tango in Buenos Aires has awarded Suarez Paz the title of Academic of the National Academy of Tango and is official Correspondent for New York and the United States of America.
